Hump-day Wake up! Prioritisation!
While most of us are familiar with the idea of prioritisation, as a general idea. I would have a guess that if each of us were asked to look back through the start of our week and write down 3 occasions where we needlessly spent time on activities. We'd quite easily be able to list more than 3 occasions! For this reason, today is a good moment for you, to take a step back and re-focus on your underlying values. WHAT truly matters to you and what steps (at a minimum) help you get there (or at least even a little closer, to there!)?
In doing this, we're re-calibrating WHERE we are at, what direction we are headed and to what expected, pleasing end. This in turn helps minimise (if not eradicate for the super focused folks out there!) time and energy spent aimlessly chasing down immediate, senseless...not in any way, helping move 'the needle forward,' activities.
Just this week alone - I've over-thought slogans for an upcoming talk I'm doing. My time and energy 'bucket' is not bottomless. In taking time and then more time and then even more stupidly-over-analysing time, tossing up slogan ideas, I've taken time and energy away from focusing on what's important, the delivery of my speech.
Take charge of your Time & Energy...
Today (right now, even!) remind yourself that time and energy come out of the same 'bucket.' If you take time and or energy out, what activities are you taking time away from, or even saying outright 'NO' to?
Why this pic?
I saw this xkcd ( https://xkcd.com/951/ ) pic today and was reminded of my first car. The thrill of it all. The pride I felt AND the time I took travelling those extra few blocks (if not suburbs across! [I feel embarrassed just writing this now]) to get the cheaper petrol. In of itself, I felt immediately satisfied at the bargain gained. Looking back I have absolutely given hours (ok, fine, probably days! Yikes!) of my time away for what (at the end of the day) probably rolls up to $20 of savings over years of doing this! lol!
