Probationary Period: We've got you covered!

If you’re in your Probationary Period, feeling a little stuck and wondering what to do - this post will likely best serve you!

Your situation, or a version of...

Ok, so your probationary period is 3 months, let’s assume you’re 2 months in and feeling unsupported, majorly under-trained, not set up for success and unsure if your company culture is right for you?

Put this shit in writing - YES that’s right. Be respectful. It can be something as simple as: “It’s great to settle into the team, I’d love to add more value and think I might be able to contribute more, if I’m able to access some additional training on x, y and z or get some additional detail around a, b and c.

Why? What does this do?

  1. It can help your Manager know what you’d ideally like; less here’s a problem and more of here’s a solution, how about it?
  2. It’s going to help save your arse when/if it comes to a performance meeting.

Ok, so say for example, you’re 4 months in, and your boss tells you: “Your job is on the line because you’re underperforming.”  If you’re let go of, on this basis and believe it to be unfair,  letters like this suggested above, help evidence your genuine attempt to get help. Hells bells yeah! We’ve defended a number of clients and have a 100% track record for wins!

Hello unfair dismissal claim options. These are far better than the “seriously I got screwed over, have no job, am struggling with money and don’t have a leg to stand on.”
